Desi is an export finance professional with expertise in long-term export finance and loan syndication across emerging markets. She is currently a Director in the Structured Export Finance team of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). Desi has a wealth of knowledge of the ECA and DFI financing structures for sovereign, corporate and FI borrowers across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). She recently led the successful structuring and execution of the first term loan in Africa, compliant with the LMA Social Loan Principles for a road project for the Government of Ghana. Prior to joining SCB, Desi was with the export credit agency team of Citigroup, initially in London followed by seven years in SSA (Johannesburg and Nairobi). Desi holds a Master’s in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
